The cat returns!
Feb. 14th, 2012 01:53 pmGideon managed to make it back last night after all. Mayra let him out for his usual afternoon prowl around the yard to keep the squirrels and visiting cats in line, and the painters showed up. Gideon, who never bothers to jump the fence anymore, shot straight over it and down to the neighbors. I don't honestly blame him, the sound of the pressure washers is enough to send anyone shooting over a fence.
However, he didn't come home. Not even for dinner. I began to worry he'd forgotten his true size and wedged himself in somewhere too tight for his proportions.
But not so. Right after I fell asleep, he came home and yeowled for Jim to let him in.
Apparently Jim told me this, and I said, "Oh good I can sleep now."
I have no memory of this, which is why I was very surprised to find him asleep in our downstairs chair. And Jim was not.
!#*&(& cat.
