Survived James' first birthday. Mickey Mouse everything from the banner to the cupcakes. I felt a bit sad to be doing the last first birthday for the Luebke boys, but in many ways I was relieved. This was the last Friday night I would wake up in a sweat about how to get everything ready (and clean) on Saturday.
Eleven folks showed up to celebrate with us, which made our tiny house seem like party central. The cute thing about the Bay Area is that everyone who came commented on how much room we had. It's different here.
One thing that helped is that we moved out the dining room table and set up activities for all the visiting little ones outside. That left us more space in the house for people to circulate.
James was confused by the whole situation and looked askance at the home invasion. He was, however, mollified by the cupcake.
