Night walk
Oct. 3rd, 2012 08:46 amAbandoned all hope of getting any cooking done in the house with the hot temps. Went out with the guys but was too upset about work to actually eat my food. It's one thing to not sleep but to not eat is a whole 'nother realm of stress for me. Stress eating, sure, but when food loses its appeal I know I need a break.
James was fussy about sleeping in his cozy little room. I don't blame him. That room is snug which makes for a great winter sleeping place, but in summer or even this post-summer gasp--misery. So around 9:30 when everyone else was crashed out, I popped James into his stroller and we wandered about the neighborhood.
The only person we passed was a guy going through the recyclables. Trash night makes for strange companions along our street. I got out my cell and talked to my Mom for a bit. She's a good sport for putting up with my need to vent about my current frustrations.
James dozed off in the cool. I felt bad putting him back down in his crib, but he's too restless a sleeper to hang out with in bed. Read The Hobbit for a bit, and then slept uneasily. Kept dreaming about swimming in deep water and finding dead animals. Not pleasant.
