Wild Turkey
Dec. 11th, 2012 07:56 amThere are many places I expect to see a giant bird landing on a lawn, North First isn't one of them. Next to the 880, it's near the switching station for VTA light rail and it's few greenbelts are home to homeless encampments. My exit is ironically a block from the County Courthouse where Jim and I obtained our marriage license (we were married in SoCal, but we picked up our marriage license as near to his work as possible.) Bail bonds, civil offices, train station, and a turkey circling in flight?
Best of all a turkey landing on the lawn of an office park and strutting. He was just gorgeous and so much thinner than the farm turkeys that I'd ever seen before. I'm not one for birds as Nicole can tell you. My hatred of geese is legendary, and I believe the feeling is quite mutual. But this turkey was hilariously proud of his escape from wherever and it was neat to see him prance around a marquee like he owned it.
