xylieDespite claims that we all had to move to Clipper cards, I was able to buy a ticket from the station and board VTA. Light rail is a fairly convenient way to leave Mayra the van and let the boys go to much needed swimming class at the community center.
The only downside is that Saturday someone broadsided Mayra by running a red light. Mayra was in her boyfriend's Mom's monster vehicle with side airbags. So she's physically fine, aside from a bruised leg. However, she's a bit shaken on driving her own car around. The zippy little VW that she has now seems a bit frail to her.
She now thinks of my van as safe, which if you look at it from the perspective of old people attacking you from every intersection. (The gentleman that hit her had failing faculties and accused her of running the red light. The PD didn't agree with him in the least). I still look at the van as a menace to anyone it might strike, but comfy and possessing of enough seatbelts to haul kids and friends to parks and theaters.
A necessary evil with AC.
Not that the train is luxury itself. I can however write on it instead of stare at traffic and fantasize about owning a monster truck.
