Jim is finally feeling better. After all my grousing he got even worse and started looking very grey. Of the two of us, I was the sickly little kid, so it always takes me by surprise to be up and about while someone else is sick. But he really did get down with something flu-like and needed a lot of fluids and rest.

He and the in-laws blamed the boys for attending school and bringing home the preliminary illnesses of fall. While very likely, attendance at school is relegated by the state and I'm not into home schooling the kids.

As a parent I firmly believe that homeschooling is what you do during vacation and kids are home. Not something you do to isolate children to your beliefs. If you think your argument is so weak they can't leave the house without changing their minds, you haven't made a good argument.

But I'm glad Jim is better and not feeling so weak. It's funny to see him work from home as he recovers and discover all of the things I told him in 2004. Yes, it is hard to have phone meetings with kids in the house. Yes it is lonely. Yes you do go out to lunch just to see other people.
