xylieMy niece turned 13 yesterday so we gave her a call. I didn't even recognize her. I thought it was the SIL on the phone. What has happened to time?
Ever the dancer, she had a competition this weekend so went to that instead of having a party with the friends. They had a special dinner when she got back with a "cookie cake". Who is this person who looks forward to a nice quiet dinner? Where have we been all this time.
Jim of course hedged on us going out to Orlando this summer. Feeling she gets enough of that with her Dad, I told him we were going. After all, Bill and Kim seem ever closer to moving out there and I've always wanted to see Disneyworld. And we all know that Jim would probably donate organs for a chance to show his sons the space center, so that's no big deal.
My only concern is the in-laws. Jim doesn't even want to tell them we're going. He feels that it will just start drama about the BIL. Probably would. But that's not a situation that seems likely to resolve, so I think we should go out there while we can.
